Nabeshima dishes were produced with the utmost effort to make the a perfect circle. The dishes are thick around the foot, and have full, rounded was, which are not pulled up very high. Illustrated here is a dish of a pure0white clay body, decorated with scattered leaves in underglaze blue and yellow and green overglaze enamels, amongst which roses are drawn in red, a design which makes full use of its rounded surface. The back is decorated with the shippo tunagi design, and the foot with the comb design.
