Plate with a Rose Design, Nabeshima
Nabeshima ware is crafted with great care and effort to create perfectly round ware, and the molding is thick around the base, giving it a firm, rounded shape, but not particularly high. The pure white base features a rose in red amongst scattered yellow and green leaves in blue and white porcelain and overglaze enamel, a design that matches the rounded surface of the plate. The back is decorated with a cloisonné pattern, and the base is decorated with a comb pattern.
