Explanation
Dōtaku is a bronze cylinder shaped object, with hollow inside and a top covered with a handle that continues downward along the body on both sides. It is thought to have been a musical instrument similar to a bell. The surface of this dōtaku has patterns of square blocks. The layered arch patterns located near the bottom done with fine skill are rare. This huge shape exhibits characteristics of dōtaku unearthed from the Kinki district.
