Instructor introduction

 

Ceramic artist. Born in Tokyo in 1960. Graduated from the Master's course at Tokyo University of the Arts. Studied under Asano Yo, Tamura Koichi, and Fujimoto Yoshimichi. Creates painted ceramics based on the theme of the charm received from nature. Has received numerous awards, including the Japan Crafts Association President's Award at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.

Instructor introduction

 

Born in Hokkaido in 1949. At the age of 23, he began studying under bamboo artist Baba Shodo and embarked on a career in bamboo crafts. He created a unique technique called "Iro-hen" by adjusting the cross-section of bamboo strips into a triangular shape and dyeing each section differently. He has received numerous awards, including the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award at the Traditional Bamboo Craft Exhibition. In 2023, he will be certified as a holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property "Bamboo Crafts."
