Our message regarding the recent Noto Peninsula Earthquake
MOA Museum of Art would like to express our deepest condolences to the victims of the recent violent earthquake that hit the Noto Peninsula region and our heartfelt sympathies to all people who are affected by the disaster.
As the Noto region is home to many kōgei traditions, notably the Wajima lacquerware and Suzu ware, the event has also caused culturally significant losses. Our thoughts are with all those who have suffered in this tragedy, and we sincerely hope that their livelihood will return as swiftly as possible.
There are still frequent aftershocks, and many people are devoid of essential supplies. We pray that the situation will improve quickly so that people affected be able to recover and regain peace.
