Bizen ware large kame jar

Explanation

The jar has an engraved inscription which suggests the year of firing was around 1571, as there is a known jar of the similar style and with an inscription that includes the same expression together with “the second year of Genki” (1571). The colors resulted from firing are vivid both on the inside and outside.
