【SOUD OUT】Ryukyuan Dance performanceon Sun. February 16, 2025 images
MOA Museum of Art will present Ryukyuan Dance performance on stage, one of the exquisite traditions of Okinawa, organized as part of the Japan Expo 2.0, a cultural program of the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan. It features Miyagi Yukiko and Nishie Kishun, both holders of important intangible cultural properties—Living National Treasures—the former in the category of Ryukyuan Dance performer and the latter of kumiodori-style musical accompaniment with sanshin banjo. They are joined by teaching staff and students at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. This ensemble of top-class masters and next generation performers invite you to experience the living culture of Ryukyu domain passed on and developed from generation to generation. The live performance will bring you closer to the heart of Okinawa’s surviving traditions and culture.
