Explanation
This is an ewer featuring a chicken-head spout, a handle in the shape of a dragon-head biting the lip of the vessel, and two square lugs on either side of the shoulder. The ewer, which is one of the largest extant pieces known today, has a powerful and imposing appearance. Both the clay body and the celadon glaze are of a soft pale hue, and the glazed surface, though filled with minute crazing, is smooth and even.
