Explanation
Over the white clay body, a shiny black glaze drips down to the base near the foot ring. The auspicious plants painted in gold inside the bowl are faded and only a small amount of gold remains, yet the pattern can be traced by following the shiny lines inside the bowl. The rich black glaze with its mysterious luster and the thin walls and clear-cut outline of the body typify the golden age of Chinese ceramics.
