Explanation
Myō-ō protects land and its people and is the leader of Four Kings and Eight Guardians. There are images of furious Myō-ō depicted with one head and eight arms, four heads and eight arms, six heads and eight arms, or eight heads and 36 arms, etc. The other image of Myō-ō is depicted with one head and two arms, and shows mercy and compassion as represented in this picture. Rituals related to Dai-gensui Myō-ō and 16 iconographs are included in this volume. Formerly owned by Tōji temple, Kyoto.
