Explanation
The screen depicts a young girl preparing the thread, a woman operating the weave, and women preparing knots for the tie-dyeing process. Depicting people in large sizes is a characteristic of the genre painting of the early Edo period. The rich cheeks of women follow the style of the then popular ukiyo-e painter Iwasa Matabei. The opulent use of golden and silver in the color schemes indicates the decorative tendency of the time.
