At twelve, she made her debut performing with the NHK Symphony Orchestra. At fifteen, she became the youngest winner of the Japan Music Competition, receiving the Leucadia Prize. She also distinguished herself as the youngest prizewinner in the Paganini International Violin Competition. In the autumn of 2002, her remarkable encounter with the Stradivarius “Duranti” drew wide attention.
Throughout her career, she has released numerous recordings. Recent projects include her contribution to the soundtrack of Yoji Yamada’s 2023 film Hello, Mother and the release of the album ARIAS, produced by Akira Senju. In 2024, she followed with Best & Rare, a collection featuring early recordings. The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of her debut, celebrated with a nationwide concert tour. In spring, she will release a new recording of Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky’s violin concertos, echoing her debut album.
Beyond her concert career, she is active in diverse fields including lectures, radio presenting, and social contributions through charity concerts.
