Galleries
The museum has six galleries, all designed using Japanese traditional materials and techniques. Gallery 2 is especially designed for displaying one of Museum’s national treasures, the tea-leaf jar with a design of wisteria. The wall finish is an elegant dark-black plaster known as Edo-guro, which was applied to perfection by finest artisans. One of the display alcoves is lined with century-old gyoja cedar, decorating the front of the raised floor.
The galleries are all designed to highlight the beauty of art objects, which is enhanced by the use of Japanese traditional materials and craftsmanship. Come and enjoy the cutting-edge technology and top-of-the-range gallery experience.
