MOA Museum of Art invites you to delve into the world of Noh theater in the hands-on workshop and real stage performances. Professional Noh players and musicians will give you hands-on instructions to play some of the classical instruments. A rare chance to meet Okura Genjiro the Living National Treasure. In Part 2, stages of Noh and Kyogen will be enjoyed in the authentic Noh Theater of the Museum.

Lecture and stage performance

(1) Lecture on Noh music, by Okura Genjiro (Okura school ‘kotsuzumi’ percussions grand master and a living National Treasure)
(2) Lecture on the programs by Nomura Mansai (Izumi school) and Tatsumi Manjiro (Hosho school)
(3) Noh theater performances
- The Kyogen stage: Bonsan in Izumi school arrng., performed by Nomura Yuki and Ishida Tanro
- The Noh stage: Kurozuka in Hosho school arrng., performed by Tatsumi Manjiro and Nomura Mansai
